Facebook, Instagram, and Threads

Create an app in the Meta for Developers dashboard. Keep one app for each integration unless Meta's dashboard requires a separate product or review path. Register the OpenPost callback for the provider you are enabling:

Set OPENPOST_APP_URL to https://your-domain.example and put the app ID and secret in the provider registry. This example contains all three entries. Remove entries you are not configuring.

Facebook Pages

Add the Facebook Login product. Request business_management, pages_show_list, pages_read_engagement, pages_manage_engagement, pages_manage_posts, and pages_messaging. After review where Meta requires it, restart OpenPost and connect from Settings → Workspace → Social accounts → Facebook. The user chooses a manageable Page. Pages in a Business Portfolio may require business_management and full control.

Instagram professional accounts

Add Facebook Login and connect an Instagram Business or Creator account to a Facebook Page. Request business_management, instagram_basic, instagram_content_publish, instagram_manage_comments, instagram_manage_messages, instagram_manage_insights, pages_show_list, and pages_read_engagement. Set OPENPOST_MEDIA_URL to a public HTTPS URL because Meta fetches image and Reel media from it. Connect through the Instagram entry in Accounts and choose the returned professional account.

Threads

Add the Threads API product in the Threads API documentation. Request threads_basic, threads_content_publish, threads_manage_replies, threads_manage_insights, and threads_location_tagging. Set OPENPOST_MEDIA_URL to public HTTPS media before testing. Connect through Accounts and test a text post first, then media.

Troubleshooting

For all three, compare the callback URL exactly, confirm the app is in the correct mode, and reconnect after changing scopes. A successful login does not prove publish permission. If media fails, fetch the media URL from outside your network and check its MIME type. If a Page or professional account is missing, check the Meta user's Page role, account link, and approved products.
